MY STORY

one path to another
Lola Ceiling.jpg

After pursuing a music career for 9 years, I was working a
part-time job at a print shop in Houston, Texas. It was there I met an established Graphic Designer who rented office space in the back recesses of the building. When I was on a break; I found myself stopping in asking questions and becoming more and more interested in his profession. I was hooked after a few visits and enrolled in the Graphic Design program at HCC the following Fall. A good friend found out about my new path and said he happened to know the Art Director for a small media company. In a few weeks, I started as an intern and eventually rose to the role of Senior Designer at our Minute Maid Company in-house studio.
Many years later I found myself in the restaurant business helping grow a small pizza joint in the Houston Heights into a multi-million dollar concept. However, life has a funny way of evolving and ignoring plans that seemed static and set in stone.

Today I am back freelancing and seeking new opportunities.
I look to join a creative team where I could help mentor and manage the next generation of designers, but I am also ready for change and enter this phase of my life with an open mind and zero predetermined expectations.
